There are a number of services in Brent which provide help to drug users, their friends and family. Please contact the service directly for further information and advice. All services are free for Brent residents and operate strict confidentiality policies.

Services
Drop-in access, free and confidential advice and information, one to one support, group work, referrals to other services for detox, prescribing, counseling and rehabilitation. Complementary therapies (acupuncture, shiatsu, and detox teas), needle exchange. scheme, and safer injection advice. Additional service for young people under 19 years.

 JUNCTION PROJECT

Services
Free prescribing service for heroin/opiate users, one-to-one counseling, and referral to detoxification and rehabilitation centre. Information and advice including methadone maintenance and safer injecting advice.
Clients
Heroin/Opiate users and Poly Drug users. The Junction operates on an agency referral and client self-referral basis. Some referrals and appointments are made through Addaction Brent.

 ETHNIC ALCOHOL & COUNSELLING HOUNSLOW (HARROW AND BRENT) EACH
Services
Specialized counseling for black and minority ethnic communities in Brent. Free and confidential help for those with alcohol, drug and mental health concerns. One-to-one Counseling and health promotion advice. Support and advice on domestic violence and mental health. Assessment and referral schemes provided. Relapse prevention, anger Management, managing stress and confidence building.
Clients
Mainly people from all communities with mental health, alcohol and drugs problems. EACH runs both open access and referral systems.

 BRENT CENTRE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
Services
Free consultation, assessment, mental health and psychotherapy for all young people under 21 years. A comprehensive range of services for vulnerable young people
Including information and advice about drugs, alcohol, sexual health, housing and legal issues. A specialist service for young people using heroin. The centre also runs a prescribing service in conjunction with the Substance Misuse Management Project.

People under the age of 21 who are experiencing problems associated with drugs, alcohol and mental health.

 BRENT COMMUNITY ALCOHOL SERVICES (BCAS)
Services
Drop-in, one-to-one sessions, home detoxification, relapse prevention, group therapy, controlled drinking group, dry drinkers’ group, referrals for residential detoxification and rehabilitation.

 BRENT ALCOHOL COUNSELLING SERVICES (BACS)
Services
Free counseling for up to six months for those worried about their own or someone else’s drinking. Services are offered in a range of different languages including English, Croatian, Farsi, Gujarati, Bengali, Swahili, Hindi, Punjabi and Italian.

Alcohol users who live and work in Brent, their carers, families and friends.

 BRENT DRUGS AND ALCOHOL TEAM
Services
Assessing people who misuse alcohol and or drugs and wish to be abstinent through treatment. Support, advocacy and guidance in accessing housing, education and drug treatment services. Funding towards treatment may be provided, subject to the assessment outcome.
Clients
People who misuse drugs and are willing to be abstinent.

 SUBSTANCE MISUSE MANAGEMENT PROJECT

Services
Provides support to GPs and primary healthcare teams to improve the health and social wellbeing of problematic drug users. Services also include surgery visits, information and advice. Also provides training on managing opiate users, hepatitis, alcohol and dual diagnosis. SMP is also responsible for the implementation and management of the supervised consumption scheme.

Stable drug and poly-drug users transferred from the Junction Project or directly from GP Practices.
